I grew up outside of Baltimore, Maryland. Ever since I can remember, we always had a house full of pets. Dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, horses, goats, geese, ducks, birds...you name it, we had it! From a young age, I knew my future would include working with animals.
At 15, I began working in a veterinary office. My first job was as a member of the kennel staff. Oh joy! My sights were set on assisting the veterinarian and within 6 months my title was Vet Tech. For 10 years I worked with the same veterinarian and gained valuable experience as his practice was not only the spay/neuter clinic but also a surgical/emergency center. In 1991, I graduated from Towson University with a degree in Biology.
From 1995 until 2005, I lived in southern California where I studied microbiology and considered going to Vet school. While attending the California State at Long Beach, my work continued as a Vet Tech as I assisted in surgeries and emergency cases. Initially, my heart was set on becoming a veterinarian, but, I became more interested in changing course to center my attention on starting my own pet sitting business.
California was a long way from Maryland so I moved to Florida to be closer to my family and to follow my passion! A Critter Sitter CO was born in 2005 and is going (and growing) strong!
My partner Mary and I are the sole owners and operators of A Critter Sitter CO. We both have strong relationships with our pet loving partners. Not having employees allows us to provide the best care possible with total accountability and zero confusion. A Critter Sitter CO is a "boutique" pet sitting service tailored to the needs of your pet!
Mary and I consider caring for your pets an absolute privilege and look forward to meeting and serving your family!
